Saudi Arabia is bracing for a sizzling summer in 2026, with forecasts from the National Center for Meteorology indicating higher-than-usual temperatures across the entire Kingdom. The seasonal climate projections suggest that while average temperatures are expected to rise, rainfall may remain at or below normal levels in many areas.

In June, the country is anticipated to see rainfall levels aligning closely with seasonal norms. However, as July approaches, regions such as Jazan, Baha, Asir, Makkah, Najran, and the Eastern Province might experience a drop in precipitation, falling below average expectations. Other parts of Saudi Arabia are likely to maintain their usual rainfall patterns.

The temperature outlook for June is particularly concerning, with potential increases of up to 1.5°C above normal in several key areas. Notable regions like Jazan, Baha, as well as parts of Makkah and Asir, along with Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Tabuk, could witness these temperature spikes. As the summer progresses into July and August, the heat may intensify further.

During the peak months of July and August, temperatures could climb by as much as 1.6°C above the norm in Jazan, Baha, and portions of Asir and Makkah, marking them among the hottest areas in the nation this summer. These projections underscore the need for preparedness and planning to mitigate the impact of the soaring temperatures.

Meteorological officials in Saudi Arabia have advised the public and various sectors to stay informed by following official weather updates and forecasts. This vigilance is crucial to ensure readiness for the anticipated extreme heat conditions, helping to safeguard communities and infrastructure during the hotter months.
