by admin477351

Pakistan has confirmed the deployment of its military personnel to Saudi Arabia as part of a collaborative defense initiative under the newly established Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. This agreement, signed on August 7, 2026, involves Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, and aims to strengthen regional security by treating an armed attack against one member nation as an attack against all three.

According to Sajjad Haider Khan, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the stationed forces are intended solely for the purpose of defending Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity. Khan emphasized that these deployments are not meant to facilitate cross-border military actions against Yemen’s Houthi forces, but are strictly for protective measures within Saudi borders.

The Pakistani military further confirmed that its personnel are engaged in various operational roles in Saudi Arabia as part of the joint defense effort. This collaboration highlights the commitment of the involved nations to bolster security measures and respond collectively to potential threats in the region.

The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement signifies a significant step towards closer military cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. It establishes a framework for mutual defense and aims to enhance the collective security posture of the region, reflecting the strategic importance of their alliance.

This development underscores the strengthening of military ties between these nations, driven by shared security concerns and the desire for increased cooperation in defense strategies. The deployment of Pakistani forces to Saudi Arabia, while defensive in nature, marks a pivotal moment in the regional security landscape.
