by admin477351

In July, Arab stock markets experienced a noticeable surge in trading activity, with the number of shares traded jumping by 28.82% compared to June. This increase brought the total trading volume to 261.86 billion shares, up from 203.27 billion shares the previous month. The Iraq Stock Exchange played a significant role in this uptick, closely followed by Egypt, which also contributed to the heightened trading activity.

Despite the rise in trading volumes, the overall value of transactions saw a decline of 16.82%, falling to $90.24 billion from $108.48 billion in June. Notable decreases in transaction values were observed in several key markets, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait, pointing to a diverse performance across the region’s financial landscape.

Market performance across the region remained varied, with Egypt’s EGX30 index standing out as a top performer, recording a gain of 5.85% over the course of the month. Other regional exchanges also saw gains, although the results were mixed, reflecting the complex dynamics at play in these markets.

Meanwhile, the combined market capitalization of Arab exchanges showed minor movement, edging up slightly by 0.06% to approximately $4.31 trillion. This modest increase suggests a relatively stable valuation environment despite the fluctuations in trading volumes and transaction values.

These statistics underscore a period of increased trading interest in the Arab region, even as the value of transactions weakened and stock market performances varied significantly among the major equity markets.
